The three things I have learned during this project are how much the computer has advanced so much in the past years. We have so many different types of computers out there. One thing I learned is that Steve Jobs help founded the Computers. Anything Apple is a computer resource. You can do anything you want on a Mac. Most Mac computers are white which I didn’t know because I thought they were blue. Macs are a lot more expensive than most computers because they have more things on them than any normal computer. They make some touch screens Macs. The interesting thing about Apple that I didn’t know is that it’s the most widely used computer in the world. I still thought the Dell computers were the top ranked computers. The picture on an Apple computer is much clearer than the Dell ones or any other older type of computers. Another thing I learned was how much YouTube is used for school and projects. I always thought that YouTube was used strictly for music and commenting on videos. Doing this project I found out that’s not the case. YouTube can show you how to do anything. You can even learn how to use Facebook on it. I thought everyone knew how to use Facebook but if you don’t just look it up on YouTube and they will show how to use it. There is also a tutorial on how to pierce your cartilage. There are also bad thing on there is well that shouldn’t be allowed on there for any reason. The last thing I learned about while doing this project was how to use Chrome. You can have so many apps that get you to where you want to go faster. I don’t think there is any way to go but Chrome. One of the best inventions on a computer. You can use Chrome when the internet is down which is a big help. You can install things instantly and search the web in the matter on seconds. You can also decorate your background with any of the wallpapers in the chrome store. You can check the weather in your district by getting the weather bug app. All you have to do it put in your current area code. You don’t even have to go to the gym to work out because Chrome has a personal trainer app that you work out with. It helps you lose weight and watch your calories without wasting gas and driving to the gym.

In this web quest I will be writing about the way computers have changed the world, how they have helped and have not helped us. Computers have advanced a lot since the 1900’s. If you ask a person back 100 years ago what a computer is they wouldn’t know. Now we have so many different types of computers: flat, wide, and even touch screens. They are very helpful when it comes to a work place and school because us teenagers have to do projects and research papers. Sometimes they aren’t helpful because teenagers use them for bad things for as well as adults do to. A computer is a machine for manipulating data according to a list of instructions - a program. Computers can be extremely versatile. In fact, they are universal information processing machines. Originally, the term "computer" referred to a person who performed numerical calculations under the direction of a mathematician. The history of the modern computer begins with two separate technologies, automated calculation and programmability, but no single device can be identified as the earliest computer, partly because of the inconsistent application of that term. A few devices are worth mentioning though, like some mechanical aids to computing, which were very successful and survived for centuries until the advent of the electronic calculator, like the Sumerian abacus, designed around 2500 BC[4] of which a descendant won a speed competition against a modern desk calculating machine in Japan in 1946,[5] the slide rules, invented in the 1620s, which were carried on five Apollo space missions, including to the moon[6] and arguably the astrolabe and the Antikythera mechanism, an ancient astronomical computer built by the Greeks around 80 BC.[7] The Greek mathematician Hero of Alexandria (c. 10–70 AD) built a mechanical theater which performed a play lasting 10 minutes and was operated by a complex system of ropes and drums that might be considered to be a means of deciding which parts of the mechanism performed which actions and when.[8] This is the essence of programmability.

When I watched the video 2001 Space Odyssey my first thought was its about evolution. But it could just be about monkeys. In the video there appears to me to be no main characters at all. All there is monkeys and no real life human. The device the director uses to change scenes is a beautiful sunset but then goes into a monkey hitting bones. I find it a little disturbing honestly. It’s just not a normal video that I would want to see. The creatures/monkeys had their own way of speaking to each other. It wasn’t a language it was more of them yelling at each other. I feel like they understood each other though because they seemed to have very good communication with one another. The creature in the video appears to me that they have no intelligent whatsoever. They seem like the don’t know what they are doing all they want to do is destruct things and bones. I think there is no logical sequence in this video. I don’t get why creatures are in a cave and then start screaming their heads off then one of then randomly is in the desert breaking bones with another bone. They also acted really strange when a big rectangle thing came and they stared rubbing it and screaming. I think they thought that the aliens where in there to take them back to Mars. It defiantly had a weird effect on them. I know that whatever went wrong with the rectangle thing made them very unhappy, uneasy, and mad. I would like to know what this was because I could always do some research to figure out if monkeys have a weird tolerance to large objects or just feel intimidated. I guess you will have to wait and find out.
